Exploring Flickr

For Exercise 5

Here I have uploaded a photo which I took at the Nami Island in South Korea back to 2003.

Nami Island is located at the Chuncheon city of Gangwon-do. Visitors can take a 10-minutes ferry ride to the island. It is a hot tourist spot during autumn for its trees with red and golden leaves with little squirrels running around; and winter for the pretty snow view. I've been to this place twice (last October) and I took a walk around the island by the lake. You can also tour around the island on bike.

In fact, I would like to link another photos in this post but I found that we can only upload one image from Flickr to blog at one time. Maybe there is a function of multi-upload. I will try to discover more functions from Flickr soon.

Lifelong Learning

For Exercise 2

From 7 and 1/2 Lifelong Learning Habits, the following habits are listed:

1. Begin with the end in mind
2. Accept responsibility for your own learning
3. View problems as challenges
4. Have confidence in yourself as a competent, effective learner
5. Create your own learning toolbox
6. Use technology to your advantage
7. Teach/mentor others
7 1/2. Play!

Talking about the easiest habit, I think one of the easiest habits for me would be to have a goal in mind to start the learning process. There are lots of things that I want to learn or to have a better understanding, especially the new technologies in this fast-changing world! Few years ago, because of my interests in Korean drama, I set up the goal to learn Korean as I believe learning a local language would help me to know more about its culture.

To teach or be a mentor to others would be the hardest part for me. Though it is a good way to reinforce learning, I don't have much confidence to teach others in a proper way.
